Once the missing layer appears, much of today’s enterprise AI landscape will look transitional: the pilots, the copilots, the FDEs, the prompt engineering, the consulting-heavy deployments, the obsession with model capability as if the model were the product. The real breakthrough will be an abstraction that organizes intelligence inside the enterprise: a layer where context, state, constraints, permissions, workflows, feedback loops, and objectives become native.
